National Telemark Team Selection:
This year, the United States Telemark Ski Association (USTSA) will be hosting a number of FIS World Cup Telemark races. On February 21 to 23, there will be a series of races at Steamboat Springs in Colorado, and on February 25 to 28 there will be a second set of races at Silverthorne, also in Colorado.
These races present an opportunity for Canadian racers to participate in, and gain experience at, FIS events. Telemark Ski Canada Télémark (TSCT) believes that these races will be of greater interest to potential National Team members than similar races being held in Europe.
TSCT has asked the Provincial organizations, including Telemark Ski Ontario (TSO), to request racing experience CV’s from interested members, in order to identify potential National Team members with a view to assembling a Canadian National Team.
If you are interested, please put together a CV listing your Telemark race experience. Please include all your experience, and provide as much detail as possible. In addition to your Telemark experience, you may also list Alpine race experience, although this may not be given as much weight as Telemark experience. You may choose to format the information in any manner you want, but it should be easy to read and understand. Please note that TSO and TSCT reserve the right to verify any or all information.
Final selection will be at the discretion of the Board of TSCT and based on inputs including assessment by the National Team Coach of the experience presented.
Please note that neither Telemark Ski Ontario nor Telemark Ski Canada Télémark will be able to offer financial support to attend FIS events. Team members are expected to complete the FIS registration process, obtain appropriate medical and accident insurance and meet any other expenses or requirements.
