David Kilbourn

For me Telemark was the answer to revitalizing my passion for skiing. I grew up out west as an alpine skier. Moved to Ontario in 1984. In January 1996, I saw the Ski Telemark truck at a local Ontario hill and immediately flashed back to Norquay as a kid watching a telemark race. I got out of the line, paid for my lesson and equipment and was hooked on the first run down the hill. A few weeks after that I bought my own gear. I have not looked back since that time. Since winter of 2000 I have been full time on telemark and plan on staying that way. I have been pushing my limits and the sport in both racing (Telemark World Cup) and freestyle (slopestyle & mogul coach and just being a kid in the park ! ). My passion for skiing and telemark is endless. If there the slightest chance to get out, I am out.

I have been coached extensively and now I am in the exciting position to give back. I teach telemark whenever I get the chance. I talk about telemark 12 months of the year and spread the word about how much fun it is!!! My best description is akin to ball room dancing on skiis. I love the responses I get when my students “get it”..no matter if it’s big or small.
